Have you ever worked harder than those around you and have them receive the same pay/accolades/resources? And when it happens consistently does it make you want to work harder? Leave? Or do less like the others? We may all have different breaking points, but we will all break eventually. And so will our economic and social system.
The current Social Justice Warriors seem to want anyone to succeed more than others. Redistribution of wealth and resources some have cried. Well folks the average person is not going to work so that others who are able can rely on their taxes and support. Instead of encouraging success it actually punishes it.
I certainly think some people are paid more than they are worth: athletes, celebrities, politicians, union employees that skate by with the minimum and so on. However, it is what the market and capitalism has allowed and I rather have a chance to earn what I am willing to work for than live in a socialistic society that tells me how to live and what I may have. I rather have a chance to succeed greater than be “guaranteed” to live of the largess f the government and the elite power brokers who I am sure will not be coming down to join us all in ‘equality’.
