A candidate shouldn't garner more votes for the other candidate...kind of defeats the purpose.

Help me understand how so many people do not realize the unintended consequences of their actions.

Are there no moderate Democrats left? If there are they need to speak up and bring some rational thought back to the party or they may find that the combination of Trump supporters and the people who will vote for him because they are voting against the extreme left is larger than the number of people on the extreme. Honestly I feel certain that Trump won in 2016 because of the people who voted against Clinton.

Do the politicians on the left really believe what they are saying or are they just reacting as opposite as possible to Trump? Have they not seen that had they spent time building bi-partisan consensus on legislation they would have been able to make laws and policies? It is truly hard for me to understand. Surely advisors and handlers can be more objective and help people step away from the corner they seem hell bent on painting themselves in to.

Someone needs to explain the difference to them of being politically astute rather than a just being a political ass.
